RoadTrip to Ilocos

February 13-14, 2012

Went to Ilocos with my friend/co-worker Meghan, her sister and her son. We spend 250php each for a ride from Santa Ana to Vigan. Very cheap for an aircon bus but the travel time was sooo long my butt hurts. Upon arrival to Vigan we just rested and clean up a bit and went immediately to Baluarte.

With my travel buddy Meghan and her son.
This is the first time i had a picture with a bird on my shoulder, so happy you can see it in my face :)
Our mini kalesa ride with the mini horse, one of my fave animals there.
Although ive seen a camel before, first time to be this close.

Already saw this tiger before on my first visit but on a cage. At first i was afraid to have my picture taken with it but many tourist went to have one so i was encouraged, i even touch the tiger for a bit. Although i was smiling, it was still scary.

After our visit to Baluarte, we went for a Kalesa ride around the city for only 150php. Our first stop was at Bantay Bell tower, then a short stop to where they make banga or pottery. Since it was already late, we decided to cut the trip and go to Calle Crisologo.

A visit to Vigan is not complete without eating their famous empanada.
For our second day, we went to Bangui Windmills and Pagudpud. These two places are the main reason i took this trip, since ive never been to Bangui and i was only little when we went to Pagudpud.

For only 150php, a tricycle will get you from Bangui town proper to this windmills and wait for you.
The windmills, officially referred to as the NorthWind Bangui Bay Project, were a project by the NorthWind Development Corporation as a practice renewable energy sources and to help reduce the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Wikipedia

My favorite part of the trip was in Pagudpud, the water is so inviting, if only  i brought  a change of clothes.  It was Valentines day during this trip, although i'm single, it never crossed my mind while i was seeing this beautiful view. I promised myself to go back here with my family and also go swimming.
