Cagayan Valley Bloggers Society and Philippine Chambers of Commerce and Industry - Cagayan Chapter, in cooperation with Department of Tourism Region 2, Department of Education Region 2, Cooperative Development Authority, and Municipality of Santa Ana recently held a fun run “Cagayan Valley Run 2012: Race for Education” at Santa Ana, Cagayan.
The proceeds of the activity will go for the high school education of the deserving Grade 6 students from Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

I've attended other runs before but this one i was really excited to join. Not only because it was for a cause but also because it was the first ever fun run in Santa Ana and i was running with my friends. It was also a motivation to start a more active lifestyle (if only i continued running after the race). I also did some exercise days before the race to prepare my body cause i know i will have a major body ache after it (i did btw).

Our goal for joining this race was not for the prize or to be the top finishers, we were there for the experience, to enjoy the race and also to support the event.
The program was hosted by my colleague Meghan, a DJ Mommy Orga, and another blogger Billy. Before the event, all participants were obliged to have their blood pressures checked and a warm up exercise was conducted afterwards. The warmup was more of a dance, although i was not able to totally keep up, it was still fun.

The run started a bit late due to unavoidable circumstances but it was ok since it was not sunny that day but rather drizzly.

It was not easy for us to run since we did not have the proper training to do it, we cant even run continuously for 3 minutes, we kept stopping for a walk. Being the only ladies on the 4k race, we were the last to finish it. People were already inside the gym when we arrived.
First, second & thirds persons to finish the race were given finisher medals and cash prizes. Medals were given to runners-up for each race category.

After the race, cvbloggers prepared a program for the runners and organizers to relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Since i had to work that day, me and my friends did not attend this concluding party and went to eat out instead.
Running is believed to have played an important role in boosting one’s immune system. It is described as the best way to lose more weight in instance. There are several health benefits that running can offer. A person who runs regularly can avoid the risk of having heart-related problems. This is because through running, a person can sweat and therefore burn more calories. Running can also reduce stress because you are allowed to forget your problems and other negative aspects in your life by focusing on running. In addition, running is best known to be a vital factor when accomplishing lifetime fitness plans. It is capable of improving a person’s mental agility. ( The Health Benefits of Running)
Fun run is a fantastic way of getting fit, achieving a goal, and raise funds for charity. With this world that is full of challenges that are related to health, people should all take steps in living a healthier and more active lifestyle.
